It is our favourite time of the year again- Greek Olympics! From Friday, October 14th to Sunday, October 16th, Ottawa’s Greek Community came together to compete in multiple events to win the title of Greek Olympic Champions. With sports such as: volleyball, soccer, and tug-of-war during the day, and airbands, pool, and poker at night, the Greek Community had one busy weekend! Congratulations to Sigma Pi Fraternity and Xi Delta Theta Sorority- the 2011 Greek Olympic Champions!
Our Sisters had a blast participating this year (as we always do!),and although we were slightly disappointed with our place in fourth, it has only given us more determination to come back and win the Championship in 2012! We are very proud to have helped raise so much money towards finding a cure for Prostate Cancer and Breast Cancer. The Sisters of Nu Sigma Pi would like to thank all the Greek Organizations for making this year’s Greek Olympics a very memorable weekend. We look forward to competing against all of you again next year!

This October, Nu Sigma Pi competed in Sigma Chi’s “Derby Days”. Derby Days is a philanthropic event, facilitated by the University of Ottawa’s Sigma Chi fraternity. With the help of their Sigma Chi Derby Dads, sororities compete in various events (such as: penny wars, dress a sig, bbq cook off, and Derby Days dance off) in order to raise money for charity. This year, the proceeds of Derby Days went to CHEO. Our sisters are very proud to have placed in third, and would like to congratulate the Xi Delts on their win!
The Sisters of Nu Sigma Pi would like to thank Sigma Chi’s Brothers for organizing such an amazing event. We had a lot of fun participating and were very glad to help raise money for CHEO. An extra special thanks goes out to our Derby Dads: Steve Christophe, Zack Allen, and Mickey Veraldi!

The Sisters of Nu Sigma Pi would like to congratulate the new members of our Alpha Delta Pledge Class! We look forward to spending more time getting to know you girls!

The event, run by Matt Stepchuck, is held in order to raise money for the Canadian Cancer Society and the Canadian Association for Disabled Skiing. The Charity Ball will be held at the end of October 2011 and will be a prize-packed Hallowe’en costume party. Our sisters are very excited to take part in this event and would like to thank TKE for their invitation! With the great numbers of TKEs and Nu Sigs, this event is sure to be a huge success!

A very special thank you to Mr. Butler from the Loaves and Fishes Fund of Ottawa Carleton for the very generous donation.
