Sierra Levisen

Sierra is studying Integrated Honours Science with a concentration in Life and Health Sciences and a Minor in Neuroscience and Mental Health at Carleton University. She currently has two jobs at the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO): one is working for Dr. Ken Farion as a research assistant for a study looking at acute gastroenteritis in kids and the other is working as a research assistant for a Canada-wide study looking at adverse events within the emergency department. She also serves at St. Louis and works at Jean Machine in St. Laurent.

Sierra volunteers as a sexual assault/rape counselor within Carleton's Equity Services department and as an upper year science mentor within the Science Student Success Center (SSSC). Off campus, she volunteers at CHEO with Students Undertaking A Pediatric Program of Research Training (SUPPORT).

Sierra hopes to eventually pursue a career in the medical field.

Message From the President

Melissa Gabel

Welcome to the website of Nu Sigma Pi Sorority; a local organization based in the Nation's Capital. The calendar year of Nu Sigma Pi revolves around our six pillars: philanthropy, sisterhood, academics, athletics, social, and fundraising.

Moving to Ottawa for university, Nu Sigma Pi has provided me with a family away from home. Whether it is a group of friends to go out with on the weekend, a sister to have a late night study session with, or a friend to consult for advice, there is always someone there for support. Nu Sigma Pi has provided me with a well-rounded university experience enhancing my teamwork and leadership abilities. These skills have set me apart from other applicants in post-graduation job market.

Check out our recruitment dates in September and January for more information. We look forward to meeting you!
